There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later. I've used all versions of MS Publisher since it was introduced. It just keeps getting better. I use it to create convention souvenir booklets, to publish a school news magazine, flyers, brochures, calendars, posters, bulletin boards, advertisements, business cards, newsletters, invitations, etc. The program is so easy and user friendly to use.
It's not as complicated and frustrating to use as other well known software programs. Once you go through the tutorial if you're a new user, you will be able to start creating your own graphic publications; or, you can use the ready made design templates which are awesome! Publisher's clip art database is loaded with an array of quality graphics.
I would suggest this program to anyone that wants to create quality graphic designs or publications of any sort, especially those looking to create family reunion newsletters or to create family reunion t- shirt logos. After years an millions of dollars of development and refinement, Publisher is a solid useable product - about what you would expect from Microsoft, whose engineers must be instructed to design for the lowest common denominator.
That said, it is not perfect and lacks many of the refinements of Adobe's InDesign. Tables seem more difficult than necessary and you would think at this point you could both resize AND resample graphics to spec for print publication. Some tools are missing if you are putting together book length manuscripts but most issues have a work around if you learn to use master pages.
Wouldn't it be nice if Publisher was fully integrated with Word allowing the best of both worlds when designing a mixed media manuscript?
It doesn't seem like it would be all that difficult to solve a gutter-vs-unequal-outside-margin problem when making changes to a manuscript - but that probably effects only a small percent of users. The download process for Office products comes with too many strings attached. I had a trial version of Publisher with Home and Student Office My trial expired so I purchased Publisher and went through quite a process to give all my personal information to Microsoft so I could get a Microsoft Account which by the way is of no value if you don't want to order future Microsoft products online.
It may not be related to this program download, but mysteriously at the same time I ended up with malicious malware such as ProClean Registry Cleaner that started to perform a fake computer scan and alert me that I had problems that I really didn't have just so they could have me purchase a program to fix the fake problems.
I was bombarded with popups under the tool bar that were unwanted and distracting to say the least. I tried disabling, I tried uninstalling but could not remove Conduit and restore my preferred browser. The only solution was to restore my system to a prior point. So by restoring to an earlier point, I lost the Publisher program that I purchased two days earlier. I went to my orders on Amazon and followed the instructions to download again.
Apparently, the program cannot be re-installed. Talk about Big Brother-- This is not only obnoxious but downright invasive. I am going to request a refund from Amazon-- not sure what they will do. Whether or not I am able to get a refund you can be sure I am never going to purchase and download another Microsoft program again. It may involve a trip to the store or a few days to order but it is better to have a real disc with the program on it- skip the online b.
If you are considering downloading any office program - Beware of unintended consequences!!!! Not worth the aggravation. Try to down load then it gives you an error message code and sends you to the web for a fix. The fix is to uninstall Microsoft office. I did not want to do this and lose my outlook set up and the days work that had not been backed up on the external hard drive.
So i look for the e-mail from amazon and all my Microsoft office had already been removed. So i went through the procedures to uninstall office and install publisher but the other office products did not reinstall like tech support said they would. So i went to the back up and reinstalled office publisher was not installed. Call tech support followed there instructions went through the same procedures with the same resalts. So now i am stuck with out outlook to check email, Excel to do my reports no word or power point.
Good by Microsoft and Windows 8. One person found this helpful. All attempts at downloading these products following Microsofts instructions failed. A Microsoft cccustomer serviceTechnician worked on the problem for more than three hours without success.
Meanwhile I downloaded other programs online like Adobe Photo Shop without any problems. I requested a refund from Amazon, only to be told they didn't refund software purchases. Guess I missed the small print. As further suggested by Microsoft, four weeks ago, I ordered back up disc's to download from.
Ten days later, I received only the Excel disc. My Microsoft account says that the other two disc shipments are pending and there are no means available to find out when or if they are ever comming.

When I tried, there was some reason it would not register online but it was possible to do it by telephone. Bit of a problem at first It was the basic Windows software without Publisher. However, after a easy online conversation with Microsoft, Publisher was downloaded straight into my computer. I can't say there s a lot of difference from the previous one but at the end of the day, it's satisfactory.
